TechJet, Inc. was formed from the passion of two generations of aerospace experience spanning over 60 years. The company began operations as an aviation transportation company in 1996 focusing on providing the highest level of customer service. Over the past nineteen years we have flown over one million miles with a perfect safety record. Positioning the company for future growth, we identified a shift in technology from manned to unmanned aircraft. The Air Systems division was formed in 2008.
Unmanned aircraft; is that even possible? This is the same question that was asked about the personal computer, the internet, and smartphones. It is hard to imagine what life would be like without any one of these technologies that were once only an idea. A new technology is on the horizon that is going to have an even greater impact on the way we live our lives and conduct business. The public refers to them as drones and the military refers to them as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV). However, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has classified the civilian and commercial applications as Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). The FAA will soon officially adopt the term "drone" and develop federal regulations under Title 14 CFR 107.
The FAA is in the initial stages of issuing guidance and approval for conducting commercial operations using Unmanned Aircraft Systems. Individuals and corporations that get on board early and embrace this technology stand to gain substantial market share and financial benefits over those who wait. TechJet, Inc. is strategically positioned to provide a full range of services that companies will need in order to compete and become leaders in this multibillion dollar industry that is becoming a reality.
In 2015, TechJet, Inc. become one of the first few hundred approved commercial UAS (drone) operators in the United States, authorized under Section 333 of the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012 (FMRA).
As of August 29, 2016, TechJet, Inc. is certificated under the new FAA Part 107 regulations. TechJet, Inc. and our pilots are certificated and operating under the new Part 107 regulations. Company pilot-in-command drone pilots are certificated by the FAA with the newly issued "Remote Pilot" Certificate with "small unmanned aircraft systems" rating.
